About the Artist

Artist Statement
Painting has been a part of my life as long as I can remember. I seek to paint beauty in painting; whether it be abstract or representational. Although beauty is often perceived to lack function, painting affirms the need to appreciate the aesthetic. This appreciation is fundamental to my nature.
Early in my painting career, I was drawn to the French Impressionists and to their use of color. The constant play of one color placed against another was visually exciting and awakened my desire to study color. I hope the use of color in my work reveals my personal sensitivities, responses, observations and expressions.
Artists help us see the surprising beauty that breaks into daily life. They also help us celebrate what might otherwise escape notice. With enthusiasm and exhilaration my work is done to praise God, and His creation.
